East Bengal hopeful of joining ISL with help of WB govt: Official


An East Bengal legitimate on Sunday stated the membership’s new monetary tie-up with an investor has reached a complicated degree with the help of West Bengal govt, brightening their hopes of joining the Indian Super League.

With their Centenary Foundation Day slightly a month away, the membership is grappling with monetary woes following the untimely pull-out of its former investor Quess Corp, who had been the name sponsors for 2 seasons.

But now the state’s political leaders, each ruling and opposition, have weighed in to fortify the century-old membership. But it continues to be observed whether or not East Bengal can apply swimsuit their arch-rivals Mohun Bagan, who’ve joined the top-tier ISL via forming a brand new entity with reigning champions ATK.

“The government is helping out in roping in an investor and it’s at an advanced stage. We will announce it when everything is finalised,” the East Bengal legitimate advised PTI.

East Bengal even have were given a powerful backing from the opposition celebration with Jadavpur MLA Sujan Chakraborty writing a letter to leader minister Mamata Banerjee to facilitate the transfer.

“We are very grateful for Sujanda’s support. Both the West Bengal government and East Bengal are very, very hopeful to join the ISL from next season,” the East Bengal legitimate stated.
